Preparedness is care.
Join our Preparedness Collective to find community collaboration, science-backed resources, and proactive planning support.
Together, we are working to ensure family bio- and psyche-safety in times of crisis by preparing and provisioning the animals within and adjacent to the family. We advocate for the early and intentional integration of trans-species biosecurity practices into all levels of emergency and disaster planning.
This model of preparedness is deeply embedded in community-based resources and goals. A OneHealth perspective to preparedness and disaster planning acknowledges that animal, human, and environmental health are interconnected
From early disease detection tools to keep-yourself safe emergency protocols, we empower animal guardians and animal care colleagues with the knowledge and resources to navigate emergencies and large-scale disruptions with confidence. By emphasizing community-led and social network-based solutions, we are able to create a collective approach to preparedness and prioritize family-unit protection and peace of mind within community, even in the midst of turmoil.
Engagement is advocacy.
This is an active, evolving space—where caregivers, veterinarians, and professionals learn, prepare, and respond together. We emphasize shared learning, and mutual aid, encouraging a participatory culture with collaborative problem-solving.
The animals of our world need action —from biosecurity planning to disaster preparedness kits to emergency action strategies - be prepared with us.
Members of the Preparedness Collective are conscious animal guardians that are engaged, prepared, and equipped. Our members are known within their community as able to advocate for their own animal family as well as those animal families adjacent - with the goal of creating trans-species safe spaces, even in the midst of crisis.
